Granmaakit
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
1. Booking confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed only after the required payment has been successfully processed through the Granmaakit platform.
2. Renter cancellation
If a renter chooses to cancel a confirmed reservation, the following refund schedule will apply:
- More than 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time: 100% refund of the rental amount.
- 24 to 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time: 80% refund of the rental amount.
- Less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time: no refund unless the vehicle owner voluntarily approves a refund.
Any non-refundable platform or payment processing fees, where applicable, will be disclosed before checkout.
3. No-show policy
A renter who fails to collect the vehicle within 60 minutes of the scheduled pickup time without notifying the vehicle owner or Granmaakit will be considered a no-show.
No-shows are generally not eligible for a refund.
4. Owner cancellation
If a vehicle owner cancels a confirmed booking before pickup:
- The renter will receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
- Granmaakit reserves the right to issue warnings, apply penalties, suspend listings, or remove owners who repeatedly cancel confirmed reservations.
5. Vehicle unavailable or misrepresented
If the reserved vehicle is unavailable at pickup, or is materially different from its advertised listing, or is deemed unsafe to operate, the renter should immediately notify Granmaakit.
After review, Granmaakit may issue a full or partial refund where appropriate and may take action against the vehicle owner.
6. Early returns
Returning a vehicle before the scheduled end of the rental period does not automatically qualify the renter for a refund for unused rental time unless the vehicle owner agrees otherwise.
7. Refund processing
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method. Depending on the customer's financial institution, refunds generally appear within 5–10 business days, although processing times may vary.
8. Force majeure
Granmaakit may, at its sole discretion, approve full or partial refunds for cancellations resulting from extraordinary events beyond the reasonable control of the renter or vehicle owner, including but not limited to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, government travel restrictions, civil emergencies, or other events that make the rental impossible to complete.
Supporting documentation may be required.
9. Disputes
Any dispute relating to a rental must be reported through the Granmaakit platform within 48 hours after the rental period ends.
Granmaakit may review evidence submitted by both parties to facilitate a resolution; however, Granmaakit is not a party to the rental agreement and does not guarantee any particular outcome.
10. Platform role
Granmaakit is an online marketplace that connects independent vehicle owners with renters. Granmaakit does not own, maintain, inspect, or control the vehicles listed on the platform and is not a party to the rental agreement between the renter and the vehicle owner.
By completing a booking, both renters and vehicle owners acknowledge that they have read and agreed to this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
